Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we are by appointment only. We see clients Monday through Friday from 2pm–5pm. Additional times are available by request.

What is your turnaround time?
Our standard turnaround time is one week from the day you drop off.
Do you offer rush service?
Rush service is available for an additional fee. Please call to confirm turnaround time.
When is payment due?
Full payment is due at the time of drop-off.
Do you charge for fittings?
No. All fittings, including bridal fittings, are complimentary.
Fittings & Measurements
How many fittings will I need?
Usually just one. More complex garments or alterations may require additional fittings.
Should I bring the shoes or undergarments I plan to wear?
Yes. Bringing the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear ensures the most accurate fit, especially for pants, skirts, and dresses.
Can you take my measurements?
Yes.
Bridal
Do you offer bridal alterations for wedding dresses?
Yes. Bridal alterations are one of our specialties.
How soon should I book my bridal alterations appointment?
We recommend booking a few weeks to a month in advance to allow time for multiple fittings if needed.
What should I bring to my bridal fitting?
Please bring the shoes, undergarments, and any accessories you plan to wear on your wedding day.
Can you add a bustle to my wedding dress?
Yes. We offer several types of bustles and will recommend the best option for your dress.
Can you alter lace, beading, or delicate bridal fabrics?
Yes. We work with lace, beading, silk, satin, tulle, netting, organza, chiffon, and other delicate bridal materials.
Can you recut a vintage wedding dress?
Yes. We can recut a vintage dress to update the fit, silhouette, and style while preserving its original charm.
Can you add or remove cups from my dress?
Yes.
Can you alter a wedding veil?
Yes. Veil alterations may include shortening or reshaping the veil, replacing, adding, or repositioning the comb, reducing or adding fullness, tapering or narrowing the veil, repairing minor tears or holes, adding or removing lace accents or trim, repairing or replacing loose beads or sequins, and separating layers of a multi-tier veil.
I have a vintage veil, can you modernize it for me?
Yes. We will guide you through your options and recommend updates that honor the original design while bringing your vision to life.
I have fabric can you make it into a custom veil?
Yes. We can work with client-provided fabric to create a custom veil, and will advise on what is possible based on the material.
Can you alter accessories?
Yes.
Can you make a bridal scarf?
Yes. Bridal scarves can be made using client-provided fabric, or we can source fabric for an additional fee.
Designer, Vintage & Museum-Quality Garments
Do you work on museum-quality antique or vintage garments?
Yes.
Do you work on high-end luxury designer garments?
Yes. We have extensive experience altering high-end luxury designer pieces.
Can you alter vintage garments?
Yes. We specialize in vintage garments.
Can you alter one-of-a-kind or handmade garments?
Yes.
Can you work on garments with unusual fabrics or construction?
Yes. We assess each garment and advise on what is possible.
Do you work with delicate fabrics and embellishments?
Yes. We work with sequins, beading, feathers, silks, satins, and other delicate materials.
Can missing beadwork or sequins be repaired or replaced?
Yes. When possible, beads or sequins may be salvaged from discreet areas of the garment, such as the hem. If needed, we will source matching beads or sequins to the best of our ability.
Buttons, Zippers, Fasteners, etc
Can you sew on a button?
Yes. We can also replace a full set of buttons if any are missing.
Can you replace or repair a zipper?
Yes.
Can you add or replace hook-and-eye closures or strap hardware?
Yes.
Can you sew on patches?
Yes.
Can you sew on Velcro?
Yes.
Can you replace elastic or drawstrings?
Yes.
Jeans & T-Shirts
Do you offer original jean hems?
Yes.
Can you alter a t-shirt?
Yes.
Can you repair a blown-out crotch in jeans?
We can assess the garment and advise on what is possible. For invisible or restoration-level denim hole repairs, we recommend Brooklyn Denim Co.
Fur & Knitwear
Do you work on fur?
No. For fur services, we recommend Fur Palace.
I have a hole in my sweater, can it be repaired to look like new?
We can assess the garment and do our best to repair it. For invisible or restoration level knit repairs, we recommend French American Re-Weaving Co.
Jackets & Coats
Can you alter leather or suede garments?
Yes.
Can you alter coats or outerwear?
Yes.
Can you replace a lining in a jacket or coat?
Yes. You may provide your own fabric; we can recommend fabric stores in the NYC Garment District, or we can source fabric for an additional fee.
